Cantorion Rudsambee Singers

Ar ddiwedd mis Mawrth eleni, mi dderbynais i ebost wrth aelod o’r Rudsambee Singers o Gaeredin yn holi a oedd recordiad ar gael o Cariad –  fy nghyfansoddiad buddugol yng nghystadleuaeth Tlws y Cerddor llynedd. Wedi i ni ebostio yn ôl ac ymlaen sawl gwaith, mi ddaeth hi i’r amlwg eu bod nhw am gystadlu yng nghystadleuaeth gorawl Mayo yn Iwerddon mis Mai.

Wedi hir ymaros i glywed yn ôl wrthynt, cefais newyddion da iawn wythnos yma yn dweud eu bod wedi bod yn llwyddianus yn y gystadleuaeth, ac wedi maeddu 4 cor arall. Mae’n debyg fod Cariad wedi derbyn canmoliaeth uchel gan y beirniaid. Dwi’n ddiolchgar iawn iddynt ac yn edrych ymlaen i gael gweithio gyda nhw yn fuan!

Dyma rhan o’u perfformiad buddugol / Here is an excerpt of their winning performance

At the end of March this year I received an email from a member of the Rudsambee Singers from Edinburgh asking if there was a recording of Cariad available – my winning composition for the 2013 composer’s prize at the National Eisteddfod. After a few emails it came to light that they were intent on singing my piece at the Mayo Festival in Ireland in May.

After some time had passed, I was delighted to hear this week that they won in their competition, beating 4 other choirs. Cariad apparently received high praise from the judges. I’m delighted for the choir and look forward to working with them some time in the near future!
